ASM Computer Consulting, Inc field service engineer:
This individual will perform onsite repairs, which include installation of warranty replacement laptop/ desktop/ server parts/routers/wireless access points/hot spot equipments. Gateway/Dell systems will be the bulk of warranty parts replacement and configuration. Limited onsite troubleshooting will be required, but in instances where troubleshooting is necessary (failed repair, no post, doa parts, etc.) all troubleshooting onsite by technicians will be supported via Dell/Gateway/Other phone tech support. In every case dealing with Dell and Gateway, initial troubleshooting is done well before tech is onsite.
Position is salary plus hours worked over. Typical starting wage is $13.00/hour. You are guaranteed at least 24 hours per week, plus hours worked over. You will also receive time and half for hours over 40 per week, and you will receive stipend compensation of $11/day for work performed after hours and weekends (work performed after 1800 m-f, and work performed on weekend hours). Background and Drug Test required.
Specific skill and certifications:
-Familiar with desktop and laptop hardware replacement.
-Familiar with troubleshooting steps for both hardware and Windows software
-Familiarization with Dell and Gateway products is preferred, but all product training will be provided that the technician will work on in the field.
Technician must be A certified (or very close to testing), or in process of completion within 90 days.
Required Dell DCSE training will be provided, as well as the possibility of other training as needed (Printers, EMC, etc.)
Calls take on average 20-35 minutes to complete, depending on efficiency and familiarity. Some repairs take less than 15 minutes, depends on part replacement type.
Parts management required (proper tagging and return, waybill record), call completion recording, call completion through phone system, etc. A timesheet and mileage record will be required to maintain. Company cell phone provided.
After 90 day period of full-time employment: Health/Dental Ins. Provided. Major holidays paid.

Limited onsite troubleshooting will be required, but in instances where troubleshooting is necessary (failed repair, no post, doa parts, etc.) all troubleshooting onsite by technicians will be supported via Dell/Gateway/Other phone tech support.
